Tacit Design

The language Tacit's own apps are drawn in, and the kit that lets your app speak it.

The Files and Music windows on the wallpaper, Files behind and Music in front, one cascading below the other: the same rail, page header and list of rows in both, and in Music a grid of album covers.
Files and Music, two apps drawn from the same parts.

Tacit Design is for people making apps for Tacit. It says how an app looks, moves and speaks, with the values behind each rule, and it comes with the parts that do it for you. Read Start once, keep Foundations at hand, and look up a part when you reach for it.

Where to begin

New here: read Introduction, then build your first app. Designing your own screens: read Principles and Colour. Looking for a part: Choosing a part says which one does each job, and every part is below.

Every figure has a dusk and a Moss render. The switch at the top of a page changes them all, because nothing in the language is tied to one wallpaper.
